troy88 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Well a few days ago I ordered a new gi from kinjisan, it was a Tokon Monarch. well i got an email saying that it was out of stock, needless to say I was a little distraught. so I called them up. I talked to a gentlemen named Doug who was extremely helpful. I dont think Ive ever meet someone who knew so much about Gi's haha well we talked for a bit and he said I may like a Tokon America or a Ronin gi, the Ronin Blk/Gold label Shiai made with Japanese cotton(Doug said he liked it a little more than the America or Monarch), there top model, well he told me to think about it and give him a call back later that day. and after a good amount of research and a ton of great reviews on Ronin I called him back and switched to the Ronin. well it should be in tomorrow so I can hope comment on it then. but it was really a great experience, I thought I would write about.here the Gi I purchasedhttp://www.kinjisan.com/robrshdejacl.htmlBy the way what does every think of Ronin Gi's? Do what others don't and you'll achieve what others won't.

Still, the fabric is very sturdy and the stitching is clean, which is impressive for such an affordable brand. I find Ronin gi's to cost less and be better quality than several other brands. troy88 Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Just got the Black Label Ronin Shiai in! I'll have some pics up later tonight Do what others don't and you'll achieve what others won't.
JohnASE Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Kinjisan has been around for a long time. I'm not sure how long, but longer than our 20 years. Doug is the owner and has probably been in the business his whole life, as his father owned Kinjisan before him. I'm sure you're right, and Doug knows his stuff!Ronin is Kinjisan's house brand. They have several models, all of which should be good values. We've sold a few of their uniforms over the years, but I've never seen the Shiai. I'm sure it's a great gi.
