sensei8 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Well...I liked the heck out of it. I can't do that, not on my best day. Very nice. How long have you been tricking? What's your core MA style? Thanks for sharing it! **Proof is on the floor!!!
bushido_man96 Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 The following post was removed in error:Well, outside of athletic ability in a gymnastics sense, there is no relevance from a martial arts perspective IMHO. If, as you say, you're using it as "an add on to my base style of Taekwondo", then you're reinforcing many martial artists opinions that TKD is little more than for flash, not for function, as a viable martial art. My $.02 worth anyway.I apologize for any incoveniences. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

bushido_man96 Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 The following post was removed in error:Well i will say that im definitely not going to go into the argument between styles on here as everyone is entitled their own opinion and each style is unique and effective in their own way. However, i thought i would show a a way of bringing styles together in terms of combinations and techniques from different martial arts disciplines that could be used in martial arts demonstrations. And i have seen those Randy Couture commercials. Taking nothing away from the awesome fighter that he was, i guess he was just used as a selling point in endorsing the productI apologize for any inconveniences. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

bushido_man96 Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 The following post was removed in error:OK, coming from someone who does Capoeira, and uses cartwheels and back walkovers as part of their base style.. I don't like it. Specifically, you don't have control over your movements, and you are falling over at the end of the techniques. A lot of follow up techniques have the look of something you added to cover the fact that you would otherwise have fallen down. Any movement you do you need to be able to deal with sudden drastic changes. What if a small child ran under you while you were doing one of those techniques? If you can't change the technique to avoid landing on the kid, your technique is not viable.I apologize for any inconvenience. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
The BB of C Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 hey guys,I am a martial arts tricker from australia. Check out the video below CheersThat's pretty cool. I've come close to doing a lot of these stuff but always manage to fall. I've always wanted to do this stuff as I'd like to go into martial arts movie stunts one day. But I don't know what combination of conditioning and/or professional training I'm missing. I've been trying to find a gymnastics school that will take me but I haven't been having any luck because I'm over 18. Do you have any tips for someone like me to find what I need?

Tricking is more prevalent in the freerunners, though.Check with all the local gymnastic gyms and see if they offer an open gym time and ask if they have any parkour or freerunners that use their space during it. -James Cavin-
