Well, I was 23 when I started training in Shorin Ryu back in 1975, and I'm still at it.

So yes, go for it! :brow:

We had a guy start at 55. At 60 he was beating on the college kids. He's 77 now and can probably do more situps than you. I want to be like George when I grow up.

There was a guy at my school who started in his 60's and went all the way until 1st degree black belt, and did quite well. While he didn't have the physical capabilities of an 18 year old anymore, he could certainly hold his own against anybody in the class.

Also, I started at the age of 25.

It's never too late. If you want to do it, go for it!

Also, define success. 22 is young enough to do almost anything, but what do you consider success?

22 years of age...that's not too old to start anything, especially the martial arts...I'd say...GO FOR IT!!

I started a Bujin Bugei Jutsu, a combative system created in 1993 when i was 22. That was 3 1/2 years ago and i am now a 2nd kyu brown belt. I plan on doing this as long as i am capable. GO FOR IT.
