Big drop off in membership is athe big one LOL.....

I don't know that there is signs. I mean several things could happen just like that and close the school down. Such as rent going up. Several kids dropping out for other sports, or leaving for college. Sensei loosing his or her job and can't do as many classes thus students don't come.

I don't think there is a step by step process that dojo's will go though.

Well there has been big drop off in memberships just going up and down lately. And there is a DEFFINET lack of Interest for the instructor teaching the students. I like it here and all but i dont want to train at a school that doesnt have enthusiams and no people in my age group Training. Its just that the problem is my mom wont change until the place is totally closed up.

Nice :D :D :D

I've never had the "opportunity" of seeing something like this, but I gues some of the signs shown before would be "revealing": candlelight :), fewer students, high prices, smaller number of training sessions, sensei's sad eyes and of course the wrecking ball :D

lol

well an increase in prices and fewer students might be a little clue but there arnt really clues its just when you see a wrecking ball that you gotta worry.

I studied at a TKD school that went out of business years ago. What I noticed was; 1) changed their franchise more than once 2) was belt testing more often than was usual 3) putting pressure on students to bring in more business 4) a noticable change in atmosphere, not as energized as before ( one of those inner 6th sense things that something's not right)

The signs are definately there.
