Willard814
What is the difference between a traditional Karate Gi and a Tang Soo Do Gi I'm thinking of taking Tang Soo Do in addition to Shotokan Karate-do classes and I wanted to know if I could wear my Ronin middle weight Gi for Tang Soo Do class? There is no superior style only different levels...Huo Yianjia
mindsedgeblade
I doubt you could tell the difference, or enough to attribute it to anything besides personal taste. It's little things like length of the arms compared to length of the torso. The best a man can hope foris, over the course of his lifetime,to change for the better. JohnASE
Most Tang Soo Do schools use "traditional" karate uniforms for doboks (Korean gi) at lower ranks. At higher ranks, they often use special TSD uniforms with colored trim, but even these are sometimes just custom trimmed karate gi. If you had a tournament cut uniform with shorter sleeves and pants, you might stand out, but you should be fine with a Ronin medium weight.
