Kuma
Since you can't do too many foot techniques, work your upper body. Try working all your punches and blocks, try working your kata doing just the upper body movements, things like that. This way you can actually get back into training a bit better than before. Nevinyrral
You can try standing on your good foot and try some light kick with the bad one, Or just stand on one leg to improve balance. A style is just a name.
Dobbersky
how long did the doctors say you needed to take off before you can start training again? If you practice Kata/Poomsae, you can practice these with just "twitching" the legs where kicks are required "Challenge is a Dragon with a Gift in its mouth....Tame the Dragon and the Gift is Yours....." Dobbersky
Not too long, I have Achilles Tendonitis, I should rest it so I've stopped running but Karate is still being practised, although jumping kicks are not done as often.I think there are not many martial artists that don't have an injury long or short term that they're nursing lol. GaryMo
Injuries can be a real pain!I've just got over a broken big toe, well not totally over it as I can't see my toe being as mobile as it used to be but at least I could reintroduce kicks back into sparing. Also entered a tournament a few weeks ago and felt a little pain but nothing to write home about.Anyway, I've had a pain in my groin for the past couple of months which hasn't been too painful but more of a niggle. A doctor looked at it yesterday due to it getting a little worse and confirmed it as a hernia. Great!

brickshooter
not fun. How ever I am so happy because my ankle has gotten alot better and i am able to go back to karate on tuesday. Not yet. Your ankle needs rehabilitation. If you took a week off, take a week to strenghten the ankle. In other words, do ankle lifts. Then stand on a balancing board. Then ice the ankle down. Check for swelling. Do it for a week. If you don't, you're asking to re-sprain it.
