Radok Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 What is your fav. Kung fu style? I am very interested in Kung fu and would like to know the style that places the most emphasis on strength. If you can't laugh at yourself, there's no point. No point in what, you might ask? there's just no point. Many people seem to take Karate to get a Black Belt, rather than getting a Black Belt to learn Karate.
omnifinite Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 I would think a tiger would be stronger than a mantis . Other than that I couldn't tell you. 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu
Iron Arahat Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 I don't understand the poll? What the heck are people voting on...what is stronger a tiger or a mantis? I'd say a tiger can probably eat the mantis , but wouldn't wast his time on a bug. If were talking styles here too general, most animal styles are subsystems of larger systems. ie. shaolin --- tiger. leopard, mantis, dog, monkey, duck, scorpion, etc.. hung gar --- snake, tiger, crane, leopard, dragon Martial Arts School http://www.shaolinwushu.cahttp://www.liveyyc.comCalgary Photographer: http://www.jdirom.com

Red J Posted August 12, 2002 Posted August 12, 2002 The Tiger form that I am learning is a powerful and crushing style. The Tiger seems to "move through" your opponent. I am not familar with the Mantis, unfortunately. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
shuriken_girl Posted August 14, 2002 Posted August 14, 2002 The Shaolin leopard style is similar to tiger style, except it places more emphasis on agility. Both use raw power. Praying Mantis is not raw power, it's based more on strategy.
