It would be interesting to see. I wouldn't take it too seriously, but it would be fun to try. I'd like to see something more involved with kicking, but I think there would be fewer moves than what something like Tekken can offer.

The swordfighting on the Wii Sports Resort is very disappointing to me, especially the dueling. There isn't much precision involved, and just a lot of thwacking. I've also found troubles getting the Wii Sports Boxing to do what I want. But, its ok, for some fun.

I saw this in Vienna about 8 years ago:-)

(Tried to mail this earlier but the name of the game blocked me post.)

That reminds me of that old gameshow I liked to watch on Nikelodeon where the kids were transported into a video game and had fly on a magic carpet and avoid monkeys throwing bananas and stuff.... Nick Arcade. That's what it was callled.

Xbox skills are xbox skills. I am sure they have some value for the martial art they mean to represent. quote]

Very interesting point of view. So you kind of have to bodies? One for xbox and other for real life? If you move in front of an xbox - and try to maintain your technique as good as you can - you will not practice your muscles and coordination. But if you do the same thing when xbox is shut down, you will get a good practice session. (I've done a lot of kicks in the air at home to practise my technique.)

Okay - xbox is not real. You do not get hit, when doing your counterattacks and so on. (I've have not used xbox, but will do it after one hour:-) I do not think that you should practice martial arts only using xbox. (Unless you want to fight only virtual opponents:-)

Using wii boxing I had trouble maintaining my tehcnique as wii did not respond to my moves. You can use the lag or consoles mistakes as a mental training - try to do pure technique even the feedback from screen is not accurate.

Once more real sparring is way better than virtual sparring.

BUT can virtual sparring be better or as good as "shadow boxing"...

I think it's just a matter of time before the game developers create a more realistic system. Yes, Wii would NOT be the ideal system for this to come out on and probably not kinect, either. But if they put out a more accurate body-sensing system, they should totally do some kind of training system-- like how they have the ones where you have your own personal virtual trainer and they keep track of your fitness stats and stuff.

Agreed. I don't think supplementing Call of Duty for actual firearms training is a good substitute, either.
