Did you know that TR (Teddy Rosevelt) was a sportsman. He loved new ideas and new types of sports. He also like combat stadegies. It is said that he invited numerous style of martial arts from other countries over to america. It is also said that he trained a little bit in each one. Never holding a rank however. TR just basically did it because he was intrigued by the idea of the Martial Arts. So Martial Arts was here in the United States before it became known in the United States. (of course TR was the president so I assume he had some power to get what he wanted done)

TR in my opinion is one of the greatest minds America has ever had. He did a lot for the sports world also. Since he loved sports.

TR was a tough SOB. LOL.

Just a list of things he did.

1. Left his nice safe office job as Sect. of the Navy to form a rag tag group of ex-athlets, bouncers, boxers, hunters, lumberjacks, etc. in the Spanish American War. This group was known as the Rough Riders. Who took San Wan Hill and helped us capature Cuba.

2. TR after becomming president had seveal of the best prize fighters come to the white house. Where TR put the gloves on with them. At one time he got his nose broke and was often left bleeding. Can you see W going 12 rounds with L. Lewis. LOL..... (I like W BTW.)

3. On one of his big game hunts he was upset because he had not seen a bear. A member of his staff went out set a trap and caught a bear. TR turned the bear loose saying there is no sport in killing a iweakened opponent. Word of this story got out and a new toy was launched the Teddy Bear. Named after TR himself.

4. In the summer of 1912 TR was running on a third party ticket. The Bull Moose Part. An Assissan stepd out ans shot TR and point blank range the bullet hit his 50 page speech in his coat pocket. Which was folded over. The bullet did pass the 100 pages but did not enter the skin. TR stood up shook off the attack and proceeded to speak for several hourse.

TR is without queston one of our better leaders and prehaps the toughest man to ever hold the highest office in the land.

(General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
