Chest Protector

Jeffrey

Recommended Posts

I'm looking into getting a new Chest/rib protector. I've never used one before. Looking for something light weight that provides good movement.

I would like get some options on what everyone likes and why.

Yes, getting hit is the best option but sometimes it happens. I don't mind the pain so much, it's the not being able to breath that sort of becomes a little inconvenient.

Thanks,

You know, if been looking at the chest protectors that are being worn by the MLB catchers. They look unbinding. They aren't bulky. They take an 100 mph fastball with ease. The only problem is the ribs aren't protected at all, that I can see. Although the chest protectors worn by Bengie Molina of the Texas Rangers appears to have some rib protection.

What do you think? They cost around $35 - $89.

The Mooto chest protectors fit the bill. Really any WTF TKD chest protector should work. They fight in them all the time, so a lot of time has gone into their design to make them light and durable.

The body gear from Blauer's High Gear armor seris is excellent and highly mobile. It's also effective for anything from sparring to heavy contact attack and defend drills.

I like the idea of the backcatchers guard. I will have to see if I find a place a try one on.

I beginning to think that there is much reserach to be done.

That one looks similar in design as to my first MLB catcher protector link.

I'd imagine that they breath very well, after all, a MLB catcher is behind the plate for 9 innings, some innings long, some short.
