i've used nunchukas before but i'm not good with them because i haven't been able to practice with them for more than 5 minutes...due to my friend taking them back and playing around with them...they were his. haha. anyways, i bought some online yesterday...should be arriving sometime this week. here is the link to the exact store and the exact pair i bought...

i know many people say foam is best to learn with, but i can take some bruises and some bangs, and in my opinion...you learn faster what NOT to do if it hurts. :bawling:

i also see a lot of people prefer the string attaching the sticks and not the chain...now i'm starting to regret this purchase...i'll have to buy another pair cause they aren't that expensive...but was this a stupid buy on my part?

I personally cannot offer my opinion on your purchase because we do not train with nunchukas at my dojo (some kind of legal issue) But anyways I do train in several other traditional weapons and I would highly suggest joining a school and getting proper training espeically when using weapons. You will most likely ending up hurting your self and I don't know if your five minute background with the weapon is going to help you all that much. I don't mean to sound hostile just trying to give a friendly warning. Good luck with whatever you decide

it was a bit more than 5 minutes...and i've already hit myself and bruised, so i WAS surprised...but don't think i will be considering i do know how it feels. my friends dad knows some from when he was younger, and i know very little...but i do like learning things on my own before i take a class...that way i am somewhat familiar. thanks for the info guys!
