When someone responds defensively, it tells me that they are aware of the problems the situation can bring. At least they thought about it. In some cases that's good, and in others that's bad.

Good decision's are almost never individual. If we didn't take the concerns of those we love, or those who love us into consideration, would we be human?

ps1 you nailed it, pardon my pun. I train in Shotokan, so we're not too "close", but I NEVER had an issues with touching a man or being touched by one, as long as there's nothing else than partner work.

So, I'd say you training with men shouldn't be a problem, unless you leave it be a problem. As long as your partners are respectful (and most people in MA are, we're there to train not mate), you should be happy you have the chance to train in such a great style that, god forbid, might help you A LOT in life
