joesteph Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I am so glad you asked that question, Danielle! When we had a teenager who was officially an assistant instructor/Jo Kyo Nim, I spoke with him about this. He and I both wore groing protectors. I suggested to him that he speak with the other males (it's really almost all male students in the dojang), but just let our teacher, a woman, know he was doing it. He said he would but never did.I believe that it should be a policy at least for teens and up that it's expected. Just because it isn't a tournament, that doesn't mean that it isn't necessary. Do you think that I should approach my teacher, or would that be too much? She's certainly aware that males need to protect that area, but has left it up to the individual so far. ~ JoeVee Arnis Jitsu/JuJitsu
MasterPain Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I'd mention it. In today's society, it might save her a lawsuit. My fists bleed death. -Akuma
