Shotokan_Tigress
Wow that is cool. Specially the part where nobody dared contradict the mistaken master. *snigger* The greatest fight is the fight with oneself
Dr. Frank
The story I heard was that some big honcho from the JKA performed one of them on a TV show and called it the wrong name. Not a big deal to most people but he was mortified and to save face for the big cheese the JKA swapped names on Sho and Dai so that he was correct.SKI did not swap. So when an SKI guy does Sho a JKA guy would call it Dai.
sensei8
Whenever I judge kata, and this comes up, and it does quite often, I laugh to myself, and then I just judge their kata. To me, the name they shout out doesn't sway me one way or another to dock any points, because to that practitioner, it is what they say it is to that practitioner. **Proof is on the floor!!!
