...and back into fighting after too long. I didn't realize how much I missed it. Feels great to train again.

It isn't a full-blown boxing class, but more of a learning and light contact aerobic thing at my gym. But I'm enjoying it already and getting to freestyle some kickboxing on the heavy bag after class. Unfortunately, we're not allowed to use the fighting room outside class due to "liability." All that equipment going to waste on the other days I work out.

Haven't been on this forum in awhile, either. Good to be back here as well.

Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.

Its good to see you back, Baron! :D

Its good to see you back to training, too. I have always thought that Boxing would be fun to do, although I would have a tough time with competing, I think learning the techniques would be great, and the conditioning as well.

I have a great boxing drill for anyone thats interested, it is a building drill for the heavy bag, that ends up being 1050 punches. It starts with jabs and ends up being a 6 punch combo.

Ok, on the heavy bag, you alternate between left and right stance, and your thowing it as an increasing combo 25 times each.

1] 25 left jabs

2] 25 right jabs

3] 25 1-2 left jab then right strait punch(reverse punch)

4] 25 1-2 right jab then left strait punch(reverse punch)

5] 25 1-2 left-right then left low hook

6] 25 1-2 right-left then right low hook

7] 25 1-2 left-right, low hook left, upper cut right

8] 25 1-2 right-left, low hook right, upper cut left

9] 25 1-2 left-right, low hook left, upper cut right, high hook left

10]25 1-2 right-left, low hook right, upper cut left, high hook right

11]25 1-2 left-right, low hook left, upper cut right, high hook left, high hook right

12]25 1-2 right-left, low hook right, upper cut left, high hook right, high hook left

Give it a try and tell me what you think, if i made it confusing i'm sorry, i'm used to showing it in person, not writing it down. :)

I'm confused about the "increasing combo" part. What do you mean by that?

Thanks I tried this yesterday and really enjoyed it was hard though.

The combinations at the end really flow well and I was getting good power. I think he meant that the length of the combinations increase. So you start of with 1 punch and end up with a combination that has 6.

Just realised 1000th post :karate:

I wasn't sure how to descibe it, but yes every step adds another punch to the combo going from 1 punch to start and ends up being a 6 punch combo. I'm glad you liked it, i always thought it was a good drill for timing, power, and endurance.
