Our belt system is just white then green at 9th kyu all the way till 3rd kyu then you get your brown belt till shodan

The path leading to anger and conflict is wide and easy to travel the path leading to self control and discipline is narrow and difficult

I'm really surprised at the diversity of answers here! I didn't realize so many people used green below purple and blue. And we sell a lot of color belts with white or black stripes. I'm surprised more people didn't mention those.

As a kid, 30-something years ago, I trained under Gene Lebell for 2 or 3 years and never got past white belt. Of course, at the time, he only gave...

White Belt.

Brown Belt.

Black Belt.

Shotokan:

White, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, Brown, Black

Aiki Jujitsu:

White, Blue, Green Purple, Brown, Black

Chuan Fa:

White Belt, Green Sash, Brown Sash, Black Sash

BJJ:

White, Blue, Purple, Brown, Black

We have: white, orange, orange, blue, blue, yellow, yellow, green, green, brown, brown and black belts to 9th. :)

We're with the United Tang Soo Do Federation..

we have a junior program for kids below 9/10 yrs old as determined by the master instructor that inserts a "colored tip" before the next belt to give 'em a little more time to master the skills for that rank
