Jeffrey Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I'm looking for video of the Wanshu kata for comparison. Anything Wado Kai or Wado Ryu. If anyone has a suggested link they would be willing to share I would appreciate it. I’ve gone though some of the youtube ones but can’t really find one that is good enough to compare. Thanks,
isshinryu5toforever Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Keep looking through Youtube. Someone posted all the Wado, Shotokan, and Goju katas in their JKF (Japanese Karate Federation) standard form. If I can find it, I'll post the link. He who knows others is wise. Jeffrey Posted July 2, 2010 Author Posted July 2, 2010 Thanks, Me and youtube are slowly becoming friends.
Chitsu Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Hi Jeffrey,Couple here for you.First is of Takuya Furuhashi - the current JKF Wado Kai World Champion. And here is one of Michelle Tough - of the England Wado Kaihttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPDpAsoQ1QsThe second is performed slower to act as a training aid.As an aside, note the distinct lack of head movement prior to the turns.Hope that helpsChitsuPs - strickly speaking this is Wado ryu as practiced by the JKF Wado kai. Wado Kai in this respect is not a style - it is a group. look at the moon, not my finger.
