One interesting problem...

Recommended Posts

Hello. This is a very weird problem, but it is a problem with my stances. The thing is that the problem isn't in my stance, it is actually when I am NOT in my stance. I (apparently) have practiced so much the my torso naturally shifts to the left (like in my stance) and I have to force my body to restraighten. Can someone help me please?

I am not a fighter, I am a guardian.

What stance are you referring to? If you are only doing one stance one way then I suggest changing to the other side for a while....however, since there are many different stances to be practiced I find it hard to imagine that your body would become "unbalanced" in this way if you practiced all easily. I think we need more information to be able to help you.

If you practice in front of a mirror, that should help you see which way you are leaning.

Due to that I started in Shudokan and moved into Hayashi-ha Shito-ryu, I had the issue that I leaned forward in zenkutsu-dachi, and torqued with my punches. After a couple months of watching myself in the mirror and forcing myself to readjust every time, I now immediately go into the correct (for H-h S-r) zenkutsu-dachi.

My advice: Practice the right way, again and again and again.
