REneNge Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Help, in the dojo where I train we do a kata called gekisai kata but its different than the ones I've seen online, if anyone knows the name of this one tell me please, I only know the beggining, we start with a shotei uke, then a mae geri, then we do a kiba dachi but like to the side and a mae hiji ate, then uraken, a jodan uke and after that grab the gi of the opponent and punch him in the chest, thats just the begining that I know, if anyone knows how its called please tell me
mr_obvious Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 By chance, what style does your dojo practice? I'm fascinated by the Yoshukai version, however being a somewhat esoteric style, it's version is likewise...........elusive.
malanovaus Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 As previously stated.By chance, what style does your dojo practice?Doesn't sound like any Gekisai Kata that I know of. The dojo I belong to has three different Gekisai Kata, none of which begin like that. I would be intrigued to find out more. mr_obvious Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I think the OP's long gone. Maybe deceased, you never know. They started this thread, and vanished.
majin2912 Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 We don't have a grab in Goju for this kata. Most of it is similar. Small differences in our dojo. hitotsu, makoto no michi o mamoru koto(Each person must be faithful and protect the way of truth)
