rabid hamster Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 A few golden retrievers/labs(?) are around 100 pounds... I doubt they'd really scare anyone... Way too cute. It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
CTpizzaboy Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 1. None that I've been in, but then I haven't been in alot of fights. Try one for yourself and find out. You'll like it. 2. If its more than one attacker, you'll better run. Why? They are looking for your head on a plate and anyone of them can carry a conseal weapon upon their body. 3. Not in my opinion. In the UFC, both sides have consented to the fight. They want to get the sh*t beat out of them, so they prepare for months by training and know the risks. They also know that if they are in a life threaten situation, they can tap-out or know the ref will call. In competetion, the X factor is taken out. In real life, it is not. The X factor is a weapon, the rain, the gravel, your clothing, or just your unability to comprehend whats going on from the shock that if you don't get out of this, you might die. Canh T.I often quote myself. It adds spice to my conversations.
Taikudo-ka Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 True. In a real fight, you don't (usually) have a set date, and months to train, and a ref to go "ready". It just happens, and the "surprise" element is probably what gets most people. I saw a documentary once interviewing Sydney street kids who stole for a living. Favorite tactic - run up behind and "coathanger" the victim in the back of the head/neck full force. An illegal "rugby style" tackle that generally results in the victim lying on the ground in great pain. They worked in pairs, with one person distracting the victim while the other closed in.
