Hey guys. I have been practicing Shaolin Kung Fu, Muay Thai, and Aikido solely by myself through the use of books and videos for the past three years. But soon I am going to join a Kempo school so it would be greatly appreciated if anyone can post stuff on technique, forms, or just any advice in general. Thanks guys.

Well, to begin with as far as I know there aren't any kempo systems with origins in Korean martial arts, so you would probably be better off posting this in another forum.

Really, I always thought that kempo originated from Korea. Woopsie, :P. I guess it must be Chinese origins then, my bad.

China, Japan, or Hawaii depending on which system identified as 'kempo' you're talking about

American kenpo?

There's a rather marked difference between American kenpo and Chinese kempo, as far as I understand it.

I think you are right. I know some kempo techniques and they are very fluid and "kung-fuish".

Could be Shaolin Kempo which is an americanized system made up with parts of diffrent styles in it. Most notable ones are Villari's, Nick Ciero's, and United Studios of Self Defense (USSD)

Hello,

We removed a post from this thread in error. It is below. I apologize for the trouble.

Thanks,

Patrick

I start learning kempo by watching Chinese movies. Soon I will get admission in a kempo institute.
