diamondick
Oh yeah, something more, I find it very humorous to say the least that some people are disgusted by this, yet give their smiling applause to two guys beating the living daylights out of each other. Maybe dogs should get better treatment than humans is that it
chh
Dobies were bred for police/military work and guarding. It is not true that they "go crazy." They are known to be extremely intelligent, loyal, energetic and trustworthy. They do tend to be protective of their family, and there are traces of undesireable traits (shyness and viciousness) which crop up occassionally that breeders are working to eliminate from the breed, apparently very successfully. When I say they 'crop up', I mean that sometimes a dog is bred which has these traits, not that they pop up in dogs who have previously displayed good temperment. Only dedicated responsible breeders should attempt breeding, and they are not a dog for first time owners or even many experienced owners. The two guys "beating the living daylights out of each other" are doing so out of their own free will, and if this is not true then I would have a problem with that as well. They will probably not fight to the bloody death, either, or be constantly tormented to ensure they become as mean and anti-social as possible, or live their short lives out caged in miserable conditions only to be killed if for some reason they can no longer fight. Really, I don't even see the comparison.
diamondick
First of all if you are full wrong, let my start by discrediting your theory, you made me understand that free-will is your premise, I think the cow or chicken you ate in your burger yesterday wasnt asked if it wanted to be brutally murdered and eaten by you. You might say there is no comparison i say there is. Many of those fighters end up hospitalized and crippled at their own "free-will" and maybe even die. The final point if you can get it, is violence, you either like it or you don`t. The rest is well disguised hypocresy.
chh
Well, that was fairly non-sensical. Are these crippled fighters of yours modern day enslaved gladiators forced to fight against their will?? Then goodness yes, I'm against that too. I'm not even sure what "theory" you were attempting to discredit. And no, I don't much care for violence, despite that being irrelevant to the mistreatment of animals for sport. I hope I at least answered your questions about dobermans! There's a ton of info on the web if you're really interested, they're beautiful dogs.
diamondick
I heard Vanderlei goes with a gun against his head to the ring Ha ha ha Thanks for the info [ This Message was edited by: diamondick on 2002-07-29 02:29 ] [ This Message was edited by: diamondick on 2002-07-29 02:38 ]
Don Gwinn
I might believe you if you'd said that's how they convince some poor kid to go out and fight against Vanderlei . . . . .. Dog fights are one of the most horrible things men do. If you're accused of running them, you should be allowed to clear your name by lying on your back in a pit while your dog is released in it. I can do this anytime, because my dog loves me, which ain't that hard to do. If you're one of these idiots who wants to "make 'em mean" and force the poor thing to fight to the death purely for your own fun, you'll still get everything you deserve. ____________________________________* Ignorant Taekwondo beginner.http://www.thefiringline.com
diamondick
Totally agree with you and chh; some people should be the ones going buck naked on all fours with leash and collar and be hit with the newspaper quite often, not their dogs, that is true. omnifinite
Dog fights disgust me too. You know what sickens me even more? There are some people who train their dogs for those things who steal people's pets out of their backyards or respond to those free puppy ads in the classifieds just to give their dog something to tear apart to contribute to its bloodlust. Imagine one of them doing that to your pet... your extended family... 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu
