Getting back into it!

Recommended Posts

I'm excited because after a 3 year sabbatical from my TKD training I'm getting back into it. I'm so out of shape it's ridiculous but I haven't been more excited about anything in quite a while and wanted to share it with you fellow martial artists. I start next week on Monday at my old Dojang in Manchester, CT and my little sister in law (age 15) wants to do it too, so we are both signing up. :karate:

Good one you! Welcome back. Remember...start back slowly. No need to show up the kids :D

That's cool CTTKDKing, nice that your sister-in-law is doing it too.

Just make sure you are not too overzelous when you start. I can picture it now. Teacher shows a headkick. In your head you think' no problem I used to do that all the time'. Next thing you lying down in a heap with a pulled muscle.

I may have done that when I started training again :D

Ha ha, thanks people. I started Monday this week, and I gotta tell you, I'm sore. I go back tonight. My instructor is being awesome about it though, starting me off slow, but not too slow ;-). Feels sooooooo good to be back in uniform.

I envy you. My work schedule has caused me to miss classes, and this will likely continue until July. So, unless I get some training time solo, I'm out of class for a time. I've been back once since I got back from Academy.

That really stinks. I hope your work schedule changes soon so you can get back into it.
