For me it is a kind of order that sets me free to fly.You don't have to blow out someone else's candle in order to let your own flame shine. Dr. Frank Posted April 17, 2010 Share Posted April 17, 2010 White is the standard in most Shotokan schools and the story goes that when Funakoshi wanted to introduce karate into Japanese public schools the administrators insisted that there be standardized uniforms and colored rank belts.
