Take Me Out...Yes...It's BASEBALL!

My prayers, condolences, and thoughts are with those that have been impacted by the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, of which, at least 16 deaths have been confirmed and an estimated $47.5 Billion in damages.

Speaking about another venue named Tropicana. The Tampa Bay Rays might have to find another home for the 2025 season because hurricane Milton darn near tore off the entire roof of the Tropicana Stadium, which was being used as a staging area for First Responder, fortunately, no fatalities and injuries were reported.

The Rays might not fix the roof before the 2025 regular season because the 34-year-old stadium is scheduled to be demolished after the end of the 2027 season, and a new $1.3 Billion stadium is planned to be finished before the beginning of the 2028 season.

They might play at Charolotte Sports Park, Disney Wide World of Sports, Al Lang Stadium, Steinbrenner Field, Hard Rock Stadium, Oakland Coliseum, or Olympic Stadium of Montreal. Wherever they decide to lay their hats for the 2025 season, it might not be at the Tropicana Stadium.

:)

Well, well, well!!

The Yankees return to the ALCS for the 4th time in 8 years. How might you ask??

By winning games 2, 3 and 4 against the hosting Royals of the ALDS series.

Game 1: Royals 5 and Yankees 6 at Yankee Stadium.

Game 2: Royals 4 and Yankees 2 at Yankee Stadium

Game 3: Royals 2 and Yankees 3 at Kaufman Stadium

Game 4: Royals 1 and Yankees 3 at Kaufman Stadium

Yankees are now waiting for the outcome of the ALDS game 5 between Cleavland and Detroit.

Had a team's bench-clearing out in the 6th inning around second base after Garcia slid late into the base but this altercation was ended as fast as it began.

Yankees closers, Holmes and Weaver took care of business in the 8th and 9th innings respectfully to close out for the ALDS victory. Due to how good Judge is, he's been playing center field and not his usual right field. Boone determined that with Judge's best and most experience that it would best serve their outfield defense with Andujar and Fraiser developing their outside skills. Still, makes sense, but it is strange to see Judge not in right field.

ALCS best-of-seven, with the Yankees hosting the winner of the AL Wild Card game, starts this Monday and Tuesday, October 14th and 15th!!

GO YANKEES!!

Well, Royals lost to the Yankees and got eliminated.  Here's to looking forward to next year.

Your Royals had a great 2024 season and should be proud of what they've accomplished across the board.

Some of the things that the Royals and you should be proud of...not saying that you're not proud of your Royals...

1) The Royals swept the Astros and the White Sox in a 7-0 at home.

2) Witt's game-tying triple form when the Royals were down 8 and sent the Mariners packing.

3) March's 7 strong innings set up prevented a 4-game sweep and set up Garcia's walk-off against my Yankees.

4) Lugo's complete game.

5) Witt's Grand Slam against the White Sox.

6) Royals acquire Erceg from the A's.

7) Even though Pasquantina broke his thumb, then Royals brought in 3 vets with depth and experience.

8} Royals swept the Twins.

9) Royals go to the ALDS...Swept the Orioles on the road.

Nothing to sneeze at.

All in all, I was very glad to face the Royals and not the Astros in the playoffs because the Astros seem to have the Yankees numbers. Not saying that the Rolays were going to be an easy, and it wasn't, but the Astros have been a pain in the Yankees backside as of late. I was so excited that the Tigers elemomated the Astros in the their WC series that I drank one more Pepsi Diet followed by a Dr. Pepper Diet...it felt so good.

GO YANKEES!!

:)

The ALCS stage is set between the Yankees and the Guardians starting this Monday, October 15th at Yankee Stadium. This is the 2nd time in 3 years and the 4th time in 8 years. But for the first time, thank you Lord, since 2012, my Yankees won't have to go through the Astros, of which the Astros eliminated the Yankees in the 2017, 2019, and 2022 ALCS.

Guardians are making their first ALCS appearance since 2016, when they won the pennant before losing to the Cubs in the World Series. Cleveland, of course, has not won a World Series since 1948...that's quite a long time in any sport.

Possible starting pitchers for game 1 of the ALCS might be LHP Rodon for the Yankees and RHP Cobb for the Guardians.

On the other side, the Dodgers blanked the Mets in their game 1 of the NLCS at Dodgers Stadium by the score of Dodgers 9 and Mets 0. Their game 2 at Dodgers Stadium will be today with first pitch will be at 1:08PM on the west coast before the series returns to the east coast for game 3. Mets and Dodgers met in the 1988 NLCS, which the Dodgers won in 7 games.

Dodgers might once again put a pitcher reliever on the mound as their starting pitcher in game 2. With that being said, RHP Flaherty for the Dodgers and LHP Manaea for the Mets.

BATTER UP!! GO YANKEES!!

I have a friend who is a Mets fan who I have not seen all summer, and his wife is a Dodgers fan, so I wonder how things are going in that household!  I might have to message him this week and see what is going on.

Recap of what's happened in both the NLCS and the ALCS.

ALCS

Game 1: Yankees 5 and Guardians 2

Game 2: Yankees 6 and Guardians 3

Game 3 today in Cleavland at 2:08pm

NLCS

Game 1: Dodgers 9 and Mets 0

Game 2: Dodgers 3 and Mets 7

Game 3: Dodgers 8 and Mets 0

It's said that whichever team wins game 3, whenever the series is tied 1 game each, that that winner goes onto the World Series. Time will tell if that remains the case in the NCLS and/or the ALCS.

Dodgers finished off the Mets to win the NL and now face another NY team, the Yankees, in the World Series.  It's New York vs Los Angeles.  It's the Yankees and the Dodgers. It's east coast vs west coast. It's old school, but not even close because it is present day.  And I don't care.
