rmurray Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I don't think the video is too bad. His technique looks pretty much like the Kali fighters in the Phillipines. They slap the blade around like a paintbrush only faster. As for myself; God help me, I can't imagine engaging in a knife fight. Getting cut to ribbons must be one of the worst things to endure. Unless I was protecting my wife or something I think I would just throw my knife at him and bolt. Unending Love,Amazing Grace
bushido_man96 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Its not a very good instructional clip, it goes so fast.I slowed down the beginning, and saw he deflected the knife strike with his hand. I'm not sure how well that would work out, but I guess I'd trade a cut hand for being stabbed in the throat. It looks like some of his later defense used the knife to deflect, first. Since I'm no knife fighter, I'd probably look elsewhere, like Filipino or the like. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
MasterPain Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 This is knife against knife, I don't like the idea of being close enough to cut the body. I prefer to cut the weapon hand and arm, and control range. My fists bleed death. -Akuma
Groinstrike Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 If its a true "fight to the death situation" i agree with masterpain, defang the snake then move In for the kill. However when dealing with weapons, escape and evasion should always be the first option.
