Question about tournament gear?

Featured Replies

I was looking at gear requirements for a nearby tournament (purely out of curiosity--I'm still in the process of looking for a school to begin training in again), and I saw the following:

naugahyde knuckle

pads for all, red, blue or white is acceptable. (No dipped

foam or elastic cloth hand pads)

My oldish sparring gear was fairly cheap, about $30 for the hands and feet, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is "dipped foam." But what is the naugahyde knuckle pads they are talking about???

Thanks!

Thanks for posting that link, sensei8! It's always great to see our stuff in use! I see at least one of our gis in each of the action photos on that site, and some of the knuckle pads look like they might be our Tokaido Karate Mitts. We do a fair amount of business with AAU dojos in the NW.
