bushido_man96
It looked like in the video he shifted his weight a bit to get the kick off. I think I end up pulling the kicking foot into the knee, but I don't recall. The way we do the form looks SO much different than his video, though.I will be honest, though: I hate this form. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
joesteph
I will be honest, though: I hate this form.I know you didn't mean it to be funny, Brian, but I had to laugh when I read it! It made me think of myself and how I hated the last form I was working on, because of the jumping backwards segments that had me land on one leg. DWx
The way we do the form looks SO much different than his video, though.Do you have a video? Be interesting to see that differences. Been looking through YouTube at different versions and there are hundreds of them. I actually like this one. Suits me better than the other patterns I have to learn for this belt (Sam-Il and Choi Yong). Choi Yong is horrible because of all the legs and Sam-Il is a little too simple for my liking. Only problem with Yoo Sin is how long it is, although I actually think two of the ones we learn for 2nd dan (Juche and Choong Jang) feel longer. bushido_man96
I will have to try to do it, and then record it and post in on FB or something. I'll see if I can arrange that.I'll warn you, though...I think I look terrible. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
DWx
That'd be cool. I'm sure you don't look that bad.. Is there nothing on Youtube or elsewhere from people from your school?I should probably get a copy of mine too. bushido_man96
I've looked, and haven't found anything from any of my people, or that do it like we do. But, to describe it in words, I'd say our TKD has more of a Karate feel to it. Or perhaps, ITF forms done the WTF way, because I think our GM was a WTF practitioner first. When I do post a vid of my form, I think it'll be the first of our org to do it, and if word gets around about it, I may get in trouble......oh well, what the hell! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
DWx
You don't have to post it if you don't want. I understand about people not being too happy with students posting themselves all over the internet.I think I get your description of how it must look though. I have an "I don't care what others think" attitude when it comes to that stuff. I'll do what I want with this stuff.I checked my encyclopedia, and it does say to perform the pressing blocks in a slow motion. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
