BDPulver
There's a road down from my parents in NJ, great meadows to be exact that has history on it. Name of the road is called Shades of Death. What makes it even more unique is a lake on it that is called Ghost Lake.
Patrick
Thanks for sharing that, BDPulver. It even has it's own Wikipedia page! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shades_Of_Death_RoadPatrick Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com? sensei8
Here's another strange road; located in Deals Gap, NC. It's only 11 miles long, but, it's a wild and exciting 11 miles, 11 miles in which it contains 318 curves, in which a motorist and/or motorcycles have to be aware of large trucks because these large trucks will cross into ones lane due to the very many hairpin curves. [Pics/Videos at this site will demonstrate this]. Well...please see it for yourselves...here's a link to the Dragon's Tail...http://www.tailofthedragon.com/Here's a Wikipedia article....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deals_Gap,_North_Carolina **Proof is on the floor!!! Patrick
No problem, BDPulver. I remember seeing something about that road, Bob. http://www.tailofthedragon.com/dragon_faq.html - good that truckers are not taking the route as much anymore. sensei8
I remember seeing something about that road, Bob. http://www.tailofthedragon.com/dragon_faq.html - good that truckers are not taking the route as much anymore."The warning signs recently placed on each side of the Dragon just do not get the attention of some truck drivers." This is from that link Patrick, very interesting info, thanks for it, I enjoyed it. Funny thing about those signs...these signs are HUGE and they're bright ORANGE, with large lettering! That would tip me off that maybe I shouldn't continue. Here's a link of those signs...http://www.tailofthedragon.com/dragon_trucks.html **Proof is on the floor!!! Patrick
No problem. I'd hope, for the ones that remain, it's just bravado (i.e. "no road has ever stopped me!") or a lack of knowledge (it doesn't look that bad on a map, according to that link you posted).I'd have to believe that there may already be maps made specifically for truckers that cut out as many dangerous or small roads as possible. If so, that might be an idea for a new product. Patrick Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com?
