I hate spiders too....the best way to deal is to research it and make sure you know what it looks like and if it will be in your area. Also know where the hospital is. That way you have nothing to fear. Another thing is that it is rare to get bit by one. Knowing about the spider will help you not worry about it.

We don't have funnel web spiders here in the west.

Hehe Don't worry... most people are not dropping dead from spider bites over here.

 

Funnel webs live in the ground and generally don't bother people. Unless you're out in the bush you won't see that many spiders anyway. Maybe a huntsman will come inside occasionally, but they are harmless. Big and furry, but harmless.
