thaiboxerken Posted August 11, 2001 Posted August 11, 2001 Actually breakdancing has roots from Capoeria. Capoerista's in Harlem started to go away from the "fighting" aspect and just took it straight to dancing. If you ever get a chance to train in Capoeria, and you like to break dance, you'll see the similarities and probably even learn better "moves" for your dance arsenal. I have very limited training in Capoeria and I must say that it is very fun. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.
MuayTB1 Posted August 11, 2001 Posted August 11, 2001 Breaking many board dosen't mean you know how to really fight and defect most people. I know my teacher's frist served the rolay family of Korea( as a body gaurd ) and he can smash into hung blocks of ice, brick and even stones. But, he can't even open a soda bottle because he lost his hand movement ( he can grabe somthing but he can't flex them out ) Anyway, you have two choice or both. One is to build up rough skin on your hand by punching soft but rough bag, rub you hand on the carpet. Second is to build up bone and harden them by punching hard objects. "Don't think!! Feel..." -Bruce Leehttps://www.muaythaiboxing.friendpages.comThis site is dumb but I made it so it is good.
moobrack Posted August 12, 2001 Posted August 12, 2001 Yes I agree. If you can break stones doesn't mean that you are good at fighting. You could have crap speed, control and can not evade techniques. kajugangsta Posted August 28, 2001 Posted August 28, 2001 I think I saw a rerun of that, was it the U.S open creative breaking? Anyways I break but we break differently from what you saw. Those guys used alot of power you can tell by the way there feet leave the ground and how there hands go straight through the bricks. I learned to break by using speed, snap, and limited power. In my training I have to condition my hands. Especially my two knuckles. That hurts the most. Its all about Conditioning your hand and proper technique and practice, practice, practice
