DeeLovesKarate Posted July 18, 2002 Posted July 18, 2002 I keep reading about chi in BBM and, I have finally figured out what it is. With my luck, of course it makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!! Ne way, it says people with chi have like this jedi powerish thing to move stuff with their mind when they need to, but they aren't supposed to use it unless it's important. Just like in star wars where that dude moved his light saber using the force. Is this real?? If so, can we also do the jedi mind tricks... I wouldn't mind using a few on my gym teacher....Lol. J/K. But, seriously, anybody in here try it?? I haven't. I'm obviously not going to sit in my room all day and stare at my door trying to open it with my chi, but does one always have chi, or is it just for martial artists. If I use chi to get the answers for a test would it be Chi-ting. Lol. Cheating, Chi-ting?? Get it? got it? good? Any answers to my chi question?? I need to learn about my alleged " Chi". Chi, Dee ( Tee-hee that rymes) P.s. PLEASE REPLY!! PPS. I know, I sound like I'm dissing chi, but I'm not, I'm really curious, please reply! _________________ Dee C. G95champ Posted July 18, 2002 Posted July 18, 2002 Sadly there is not magic power out there for us to use. I do believe in Chi or Ki but I think it is more like controling your emotions. (like star wars lol) You know how people get scared or something they can become stronger because there is more. You can used the fear and anger for good if you can control it. But as far as picking up rocks with your mind its not going to happen. Their is a standing offer buy several people of over a million dollars if anyone can prove to them they have ESP or other mind powers. No one has yet to take or pass their test. With that said there is a certin truth to the saying if you believe hard enough it will happen. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
BlueDragon1981 Posted July 18, 2002 Posted July 18, 2002 I feel the same as G95Champ on this one. You can do amazing things with your body if you learn how to harness Chi and Ki and all of that.
sentry Posted July 18, 2002 Posted July 18, 2002 I read where this one guy named Uri Gellar (anybody else ever heard of him) says that along time ago people used to use more that 10% of their brain capacity and they could do things like read minds, move objects with their mind and even fly .
G95champ Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 As much as I wish that to be true its not. Its like BigFoot and the Lockness Monster. If it could happen we would have found it by now. The Germans in WWII, The Russians in the cold war and the Chineese still today have spent millions on this. Im sure the US does or has as well. Slight of hand and simple mind tricks with light can do more than the mind. As stong as the mind is its easy to fool. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
Don Gwinn Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 Not true. Silent Bob used the Jedi Mind Trick to great advantage. Clearly it can be done, but only by one as focused and empty of thought as Bob. Jay, for instance, would never be capable of such focus nor able to keep his trap shut long enough to pull it off. ____________________________________* Ignorant Taekwondo beginner.http://www.thefiringline.com
G95champ Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 LOL thats good. Again Im not saying it can't be done because nothing is impossible but at the same time if it could be done they would be MANY cases of it arround the world. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."

Taikudo-ka Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 Haha Well you know the entire Jedi order is ripped directly from ancient Japan, down to the clothes they wear (dogis, haori, kimono, etc), the "force" (ki), even Yoda's strange grammer is adapted from the Japanese language. What else? Calling the teacher "master", the whole apprentice, padawan, master heirarchy (white belt, black belt shodan, shihan), ancient densho (the jedi archives), the light/dark yin/yang thing, and of course the whole idea of linking spiritual development and cultivation of "the force" with amazing combat and athletic skills. The Jedi lightsaber duels have become more like eastern martial arts as the series progressed. When we see the Jedi order at its peak in Ep. 1 & 2 it's very much a high tech Shaolin Temple. We even see Yoda teaching a karate/kendo style class with a bunch of kids. KarateForums.com - Sempai
