Teachings of Ueshiba Sensei

Recommended Posts

Ki is the very power that comes from within. When you are in tune with your ki. Your body, mind, and speech and real techniques will show in all actions

The part where he speaks of real techniques Sticks out to me. What do you think he meant by that?

They were translated by Gary gagliardi, Garry Howard Sensei, Seagal Sensei, Stanley pranin, and Kisshomaru Ueshiba.

And all came up with very close translations. This was an excerpt from the book "The art of peace"

I often wondered how can such translation(s) truly be accurate (no matter the art-teacher) when such language barrier, also to mention, slang-short language, is used over time.

For example, if one would to transport a Japanese citizen from this century, back in time to another century, far back, could their actually be total comprehensions?

Likewise to many things, interpretation is limited to those upon translation. In many instances, there can be different interpretations even from those within the same group. (Many Buddhist teachings are like this, thus a segaration of "schools")
