usc96 Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I lived in Okinawa as a child. That's probably the reason I chose karate as an adult. All those years of "you lived in Japan so you must know karate?"
Preacher Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I was awed by the skill of the instructors and their warmth and humility.Excellent time to build lasting friendships, and learn first hand in a place where countless others have been before you. traditional Karateah yes traditional karate. So so different then those with the 9 yr old brown belts, or sword spinning -toss the o-katana in the air= checker board wearing hakama blackbelts that do a whole lot of nothing. Yet people think that's Karate...If you get a chance to go. Highly recommend it. You'll fall in love with the culture, the scenery, and get a chance to visit some historical places, castles, etc.Just my opinion. The difference between school and life is simpleIn school your taught a lessonthat prepares you for a testIn life your given a testthat teaches you a lesson
dave_pfc Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Would be amazing to go out there but too far away to warrant a karate session. Maybe one day if I'm passing
