Would you rather join a sports karate or an oringinal style of karate. I do a tradtional type, and have watched sport types. Personaly I like the traditional, street fighting styles. :pony:

It's what you put into it...

I am a traditional stylist, but I also do a lot of sport karate. As for streetfighting I avoid it if I can, but I think it is still important to prepare for it.

Traditional style is for self defence as that is its basis. Sport is just so people can fight each other. Personally sport karate is kickboxing.

Personally I dont start confrontations unless its justified. But when confrontations face me I dont avoid it, I stand up and fight. Personally I think they should get whats commin to them.

Traditional...

I saw a survey at one site, which had reasons for initially doing karate. Self defense topped the list at 40%, with "to enter competitions" scoring a big fat zero. NOONE initially started karate in order to win competitions.

Yet this article made the point that most people are herded into sports karate once they start

Definitely traditional, although I will train in anything that I think will work on the street, whether it's sport, or tradtional.

It takes sacrifice to be the best.

There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
