bushido_man96
It has been going really well, Bob, aside from the short hiadus I have been on lately. I have really grown in my confidence in the techniques, and we have been making jumps into the restraint and application of the techniques more and more. Really starting to see some good transitions. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
sensei8
Brian,I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you. It's different huh?Are you finding it to be a challenge at times? Does your TKD background help you? Do you find yourself reverting to use your TKD out of habit?Restraints and applications....YES...Don't you just love them? TUITE!Have you started to do any demobilization techniques yet?Keep it up! **Proof is on the floor!!!
bushido_man96
Bob:TKD does help a bit, with the movements and striking techniques, especially low-line kicking. I do find it challenging at times. I used to have the darnedest time getting into Nikkyo in my current rank, but now....I LOVE Nikkyo. What do you define as demobilization techniques? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

What do you define as demobilization techniques?A fancy way of saying...Joint locks/manipulations/holds and the like which work against the body’s joints and hold the opponent in such a way that the attacker has to keep still or else they'll hurt themself. **Proof is on the floor!!! bushido_man96
Ah, ok. Yes, we do work those in. We basically work into a position in which we would cuff a person from, and that is how we would end the technique. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
