RedLynx Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Hi guys, I've got a pair of octagonal oaken sticks, 12" long. I decide to make a pair of nunchaku out of them. They were actually square table legs at one time. Because of this, there was a nut that I took out of each. This made an ideal hole for the chain. So, I put an eyelet in each, placed a keychain ring on each eyelet, and connected the chain to the rings. Because of this it looks a bit different. So, do you think if I pulled em out to show you, you'd think they were nunchaku, or two sticks with eyelets and keychain rings? -Lynx"A fool can put on wisdom, but his foolisness will show." -Kurt DoplerNunchaku Sticks (chain variety)
SaiFightsMS Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Nunchaku come in many different forms. The only limit is 2 sticks of some type with a flexible connection. There have probably been millions of home made nunchaku with no two being exactly the same.
Eye of the Tiger Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 The main connection are chain, cord or horse hair but I think the most popular are chain.
monkeygirl Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 Sure! Nunchaku are nunchaku. However, the materials you used sound somewhat heavy for a keychain. I would be very careful at first so that the nunchaku do not seperate (this is the largest danger of nunchaku, besides hitting yourself in the head) and fly off. After that, though, you should be good to go! 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
