RichardZ Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Has anyone. old enough, to have followed the PKA bouts back in the day?
bushido_man96 Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 I'm familiar with what they are, but never followed them. I did know of a guy that did fight in the PKA, and was an instructor in the ATA. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
RichardZ Posted November 5, 2009 Author Posted November 5, 2009 In one point of time, the late 70's, early 80;s, they were a popular organization.
bushido_man96 Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Yeah. Those were the "blood and guts" era, wasn't it? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
RichardZ Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 Yep. one of my teachers participated in it. They didnt stop the bouts too often. Soon, fighters started to train more in boxing, because the legs worn down the stamina. We started to joke around and change the name from KickBoxing to BoxKicking
