KickChick Posted July 14, 2002 Posted July 14, 2002 We've have had similar posts prior to this one ... it seems to be a very popular question.... (I believe you should train in a style that is well-suited for your body type and personal goals.) See me my post and others below...... http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=3379&forum=2&10
Eye of the Tiger Posted July 14, 2002 Author Posted July 14, 2002 You can pick a martial art for myour suited body type for example if you are very strong and stocky shotokan is good as you can use your strong hand techniques, where as Judo if you have a short squatty physique you will be better for that martial art as you can get under their centre of gravity. Should we combine internal instinct to chooseing a martial art and your body type or should their just be one overal rule that people should follow? Any input is welcome.
El Guerrero Loco Posted July 14, 2002 Posted July 14, 2002 I do Wado-Ryu but i dream of arts like jui jistu and bjj. I prolly know more grappling than the typical Wado guy coz i'm likin it more and more, even tho i'm taught some in wado its not enough fer me, lol i nearly made 2 guys pass out on the weekend. Got one in a front sleeper(he lost his vision fer a bit) and i did a triangle choke ont he other(saw double) Its so fun to grapple if only i had a job to start formally taking another MA not juss learning from books and other media.
