tallgeese Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I'd agree. A throw is a motion that moves an opponents weight in such a way as to project them. A takedown can be as simple as a leg reap to a more complex double leg to as something as different as a joint manipulation. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
bushido_man96 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I've been thinking of the differences between a throw, a sweep, and a takedown, and a comparative study would be a great idea, I think. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
ps1 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 This bums me out. It takes Judo even further away from its roots. Don't get me wrong, I understand why it needs to be done. Especially if Judo wants to remain an olympic sport. But it just doesn't seem right. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
