sigma1
I truly am of two minds on this. The degree of personal accomplishment does not necessarily correlate to an ability to instruct. The ability to teach is an art itself. Although a general rule to follow is "Knowledge and experience foster insight." It's not a gaurantee of a person's skill in relating that insight. Personally I did not begin instructing until I had received my third black belt, because I wanted what I considered a comprehensive understanding of MA view points and tecniques to pass on. Over the years, I've obtained a lot of valuable instruction from talented Shodans or their equivalents, and wasted a good deal of time with some "masters". If it seems more like a demo than a class, it usually is.* Indeed, audit classes, know what you're looking for.
