yodmuaythai Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Recommend headgear that produce by Thailand brand such as TOP KING https://www.yakthai.com - We would like to open Thailand to The Earth http://www.facebook.com/Yakthai - Yakthai Muay Thai Society
IcemanSK Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Yes, the bars can and do interfere slightly with your vision at certain angles. It's part of the trade off in it's use. It is a good training tool for certain things, like all safety gear, it has drawbacks. And on the second part, yes, a mouth piece is still mandatory with its use. As it is with any head gear.I have found the bar in the boxing "face saver" headgear to be very difficult during any sparring using kicks. For boxing it's great. But you really can't see kicks until they make contact with your melon. My advice is to spend more money on a mouth piece & significantly less than the one in the OP asked about in the url. A head gear with shield should not cost anywhere near $175. Dentist made mouth pieces are best. Being a good fighter is One thing. Being a good person is Everything. Kevin "Superkick" McClinton
Mike H Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Top Ten is by far the best Karate headgear you can buy. You need the headgear to help prevent concussions and a mouthguard to save your teeth.
