Toptomcat Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 *Sigh*Politics just has such a strong distorting effect on how the history of taekkyon is perceived that I doubt anyone will ever be able to get a straight, verifiable answer out of anyone on whether their roots in the art are legitimate or not.
wingedMonkey Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 True, it's how they say, it is the winner's truth that gets passed on and printed. "If I tell you I'm good, you would probably think I'm boasting, but if I tell you I'm no good, you know I'm lying." - Bruce Lee
bushido_man96 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 The problem with Taek Kyon is that you can't find anything concrete about it. I think Wang Kee and Gen. Choi both claim to have learned it, but they never say from who. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
DWx Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Gen. Choi said that it was from his calligraphy teacher Han Il Dong. Not sure about Hwang Kee. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
