Hey guys...I'm looking for bokkens with scabbards that won't easily break.

It would be nice to get the covers for the swords as well.

Can you point me to any good websites to get these? Thanks!

I wouldn't look at a website. I only trust things that I can see and feel in person (when it comes to weapons). Try looking around for local martial arts supply stores.

Secondly, I'm not sure bokkens with scabbards are very sturdy. I had a foam bokken with an oak core (the core was about the same width as a typical bokken w/scabbard) and it snapped when I tried fighting with it.

Just a couple things to think about.

All of the boken I have seen that have scabbards have very thin blades, no use at all for striking.

Here's some that I've tried in the past and I've been satisfied with their quality.

Hopefully these might help you. I too hate buying anything on-line because I can't touch it before I buy it, but, sometimes one must do what one must do.

thanks! yeah I'm trying to find one for use with sparring/striking.

A grip would be nice since I tend to get sweaty hands!

I've sparred/struck with success with all of the bokken's I've purchased at any of the links I've listed. Now, the first link is the linked I'd go to first because these bokken's have a very nice grip; similar to Katana grips. Price isn't all to bad, therefore, if it's not to your liking you won't be out a small fortune.

Anyway, good luck finding a bokken that'll meet your expectations.
