lamonte86 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Anybody know of any? the southeast USA would be ideal, but we can travel if we have to. I check online frequently but most promoter's don't include a scan of the flyer in the listing, and those that do seem to be only point style sparring. Big plus if you guys know any that also have kickboxing divisions.thanks! Hopefully I didn't post this on the wrong board. The Gatornationals May 15th and 16th will have continous sparring. Great NASKA tournament very efficient and fair judging. Also very Organize one of the best I have ever did. Was a 2A last year now a 3A NASKA!! Check them out at http://www.gator-nationals.com/
ps1 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 http://pkcheadquarters.org/tournamentschedule.html several of these tournaments have a continuous division. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
DWx Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Wow, u guys are all being very helpful, thanks!Still not finding much in the tn, al, ky area, so I may just bite the bullet & tell the guys they either gotta get in the ring or go for point style. I'm really only familiar with itf tkd style point sparring tho, any of the karate styles allow for face contact (face shield)? If you're familiar with ITF style sparring, maybe keep an eye out on these sites:http://www.itf-usa.org/events.htmlhttp://www.us-itf.com/Events.htmlhttp://www.ptc-itf.com/schedule.htmlSometimes events are open to people outside of the orgs.ISKA might be another one to check out, they do kickboxing style too. bushido_man96 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I don't know if you are looking into a particular style, but if you can find a TKD tourney using the Olympic or AAU rules, they spar continuously for 2 or 3 minutes, for 2 to 3 rounds. They should have regional tournaments and qualifiers in that area, so you could give it a look.Is there any kind of online resource I can look at for those? Do they allow head punching in aau & Olympic? You could check out the AAU website for some of the rules and regs. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
