Traymond
So, my favorite Judo throw at the moment is Ura Nage. and it seems to be pretty much unstoppable, I win most of my matches doing this technique, does anyone have any idea on how to reverse it, so I can be aware just in case someone tries to reverse it, Can this technique be reversed? I can do it the best in my school, well second best, my teacher is still above me of course. So does anyone have any experience on how to reverse this technique, or is it how I think it is...irreversible? ps1
sukui nage maybe? But if you're really low, it's gonna be tough....I'd just sit to guard I don't like getting thrown...it hurts. Traymond
Oh ok, I never thought about that...I doubt I will ever have it done to me...but just in case haha. To fear death is to limit life - Xin Sarith Azuma Phan Wuku
Kuma
I would never call any technique irreversible. From what it looks like on JudoInfo.com, it seems like a belly to back suplex. I'm not too familiar with all the different Judo throws, but since those suplexes are commonly found in Greco Roman wrestling, there's definitely going to be some kind of counter for it. Even if they just drop their weight before the throw and get one leg behind yours that could probably counter it right then and there.
bushido_man96
Yeah, I'd agree with dropping your center. It may not be a true "counter," but more of a defensive movement to prevent the completion of the technique.I love the suplexes. They really are the beauty of throwing, in my opinion. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Traymond
Ok...now to add some more complications...if some one were to drop their center while I was doing Ura nage...how would I rereverse it? sensei8
I'd also opt with O Uchi Gari or Obi Otoshi or Ko Uchi Gari or Sukui Nage or Ushiro Goshi. Either of these I feel would be a good counter when the uke wants to sit down/drop center. I've also, which in some circles isn't cool, just let them go at the apex of their sit down/drop center; it's a hard sit down, but, effective. Besides I'm a Karateka, therefore, just dropping them on their backside works for me because I hate chasing the uke. **Proof is on the floor!!!
