kkennedy219 Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I just recently passed the test for 5th kyu, which at our dojo means a promotion to the advanced class. Tonight was my second night in the advanced group, and I'm beginning to realize how little I know about karate. It's humbling indeed.Still love it, though. I know I'll catch up one of these days. Why did I have the bowl, Bart? WHY DID I HAVE THE BOWL???
Grego Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 For me, I learn best when I'm the lowest in the class. Everything is at a higher level, and it helps you avoid plateuing and getting stagnant. Green Belt, Chito-RyuLevel II, US Army Combativeshttps://www.chito-ryukempo.com
bushido_man96 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I think a lot of us go through the different learning curves between beginner, intermediate, and the advanced ranks. Its just part of the learning process. You'll adjust, I'm sure. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

The BB of C Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I've been there before. I went to being one of the best in my Kuk Sool Won school among instructors and students alike (I was still lower rank) to being the absolute worst in the Isshin-Ryu karate school...and it still is to this day (one year later). At least now I've gotten used to it.
