My old bag was an old century that was maybe 3 or 4 ft at the most? it was about 55lbs and I opened it up once to see what was in there and it looked like the type of padding that you usually find under carpets in homes. It was all shredded up and packed very tightly into the bag.

I don't actually know what to fill a heavy bag with, but i've heard that sand will harden at the bottom, beans rice may be a good bet though. I was wondering if anyone knows what i should fill a standing bag with?

At the Y we used water.

After a lot of testing I came to the perfect solution.

I now fill my bags with leftovers from manufacturing "working suits" for mechanics and stuff. Its made out of 65% polyester 35% cotton. The bags are filled well and have the right weight. 4ft 40kg 5ft 50kg and 6ft 60kg.

Thanx for the advice everyone.
