There are stripes at the white and yellow belt levels for the kids, otherwise there is no differentiation between 1st and 2nd level of your rank, in terms of belt color/stripes.WhiteYellowOrangeBluePurpleGreenBrownBlack

Erin Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Yeah it's not a bad motivator at all. Sometimes it's frustrating though, because the stripe testing cycles seem to be the same as belt testing in my dojo. So even at the lowest kyu ranks, it can take 6 months to achieve a new belt color. I was a yellow belt/yellow belt orange stripe for about 8 months, even though my skill set is above that. It can be frustrating at times.

The Hi belt ranks are solid.
