aefibird,

Thank you anyway. I will search in the internet may be I can come up with something.

Wing Chun Kuen Man

Real traditional martial arts training is difficult to find.....most dojos in the west are Mcdojos....some are better and some are worst....but they are what they are....do you train in one?

I've heard that the Maori people of New Zealand have a hand to hand and stick fighting art, but I haven't heard much about it.

There is an art called, Chayon-Ryu, meaning "Natural Way."

Founded in 1968 by Grandmaster Kim Pyung Soo after he immigrated to the US to preserve the arts he learned since 1951 from the Chang Moo Kwan, Kang Duk Won, Sung Moo Kwan(Hapkido), Kang Moo Kwan(Yudo). He was also friends and student of Song Duk Ki, a Tae Kyun teacher.

This was the largest martial arts system in the SW US at one time.

The style I study is Goshin Jutsu Kyo Jujo. It was created in America by Grand Master Gerard Durant. He studied various styles of martial arts. Jujitsu, Aiki Jutsu, Aikido, and some other weapon arts.

Goshin is a major part of eastern pennsylvania. It I dont think has grown to big in other states however.

It is a very well rounded style and welcomes most new techniques. It has the traditional kata and the ranking system is different depending on the teacher. Each school owner can do what they want with the ranking style once they have their own school.

I hope some day that Goshin Jutsu Kyo Jujo gets recognized for the great art that it is.

im located in eastern PA.. bucks county, right outside of philly. i havent seen any schools teaching goshin jutsu. where would i find this?

I didn't get chance to search through this whole thread but one interesting MA I saw a demonstration of once was:

Viet Vo Dao

It's a Vietnamese arts which looked like a cross between TaeKwon Do, Ju Jitsu and Proffessional Wrestling! lol

I don't know much about it but I'd love to know more - if anyone finds more PLEASE PLEASE tell me by PM.

There is a cookie in it for you if you do! lol

This would seem to make it impossible for people from other schools in the same system to tell anything by rank.

Why not, then, get rid of ranks? Perahps seperate into informational groups?

...Kwok Wu Chuen ..... a mix of WTF TKD and Shaolin Kung Fu. We do all the TKD belt ranks and Taeguk forms, but at red belt, we start learning Kung Fu forms, and weapon forms. From BB and up we learn one TKD form, one Kung Fu form, and one weapons form for each dan rank.

These are about the two most opposite styles ever. i never would have guessed anyone would have combined them. you made it sound like you just study the two seperate styles though, not really combining them, right?
